BIOGRAPHICAL:
Lou Murray started playing the piano at age two, and wrote down her first musical composition at age six. She was a guest pianist with the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra and with the New Orleans Symphony at age 14. Later, she played regular and melodic percussion with the concert band at the University of New Orleans, where she majored in music composition.
Lou is sometimes available to perform in concert, or at special events, and has put together a presentation called "THE JAZZ HOUR," a live concert of sparkling, original instrumental music, ranging from emotionally-charged mood music to fast-paced, energetic improvisations that would make anybody want to get up and dance. Lou, who plays eight different musical instruments, performs in this presentation on electronic keyboards, guitar, trumpet, and alto saxophone. The emphasis is on fresh, original jazz tunes that aren't on anybody's iPod (yet.)
Lou has performed in virtually all musical genres - country, pop, rock, jazz, and classical - and for audiences of all sizes.
