Camille Smith, our new board president, says her goals for 2008-09 include "evaluating our outreach to visitors and new members, improving board organization and communication, and involving more friends and members in the 'care and feeding' of our church community."
Camille, who has been a part of our church since 2001, previously served on the board of trustees as treasurer and religious education chair and was also chair of the ministerial sabbatical committee. She has been active in fund-raising: organizing the church auction and yard sales and introducing the Great Lakes Scrip gift card program.
She lives near Waynesboro, Pa., with her partner, Robin Chute, and their son, Sam. When she's not teaching art at the Montessori Academy in Chambersburg, she enjoys quilting and has made wall hangings, chalice table cloths and a banner for our church.
Tara Petite is in her first term as our board secretary, with the responsibility of taking minutes at meetings and keeping the records of the church.
Tara began attending UUCH in 2004, and has enjoyed the sense of community and connection it has provided her and her family. She is a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom of three children.
Fanny Crawford is in her second term as chair of the Faith-in-Action Committee (also known as Social Concerns). This year, her goals as Faith-in-Action chair, include: development of a Faith-in-Action calendar, resource guide and committee work plan with help from as many UUCH members and attenders as possible; updates on Faith-in-Action activities in the newsletter; collaborations with groups from other churches on at least one Faith-in-Action project; and continuation of Faith-in-Action projects from past years, such as assisting at the REACH shelter, and joint projects with the children in our RE program.
Fanny has been a member of our church since 2005, volunteering monthly in the nursery and leading occasional Sunday services, most recently on family history and storytelling.
A Philadelphia native, Fanny has lived in the quad-state area for 37 years. She now lives in hagerstown with her husband, Jose Rosapepe. They have two grown children, a son living in Los Angeles and a daughter in Hagerstown. Fanny is the executive director of APPLES for Children, the regional Child Care Resource Center for Allegany, Garrett and Washington Counties in Western Maryland. She gardens and enjoys sharing plants with others at UUCH.

Yvonne has been a UUCH member since 1984. She has previously served on the board of trustees as program chair, religious education chair, president and membership chair. She is currently the church newsletter editor.
Yvonne and her husband Bill live near Waynesboro, PA and have one grown son. She is a writer, primarily of business newsletters, brochures and articles. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening and playing with their many cats and dogs.
Dodie Ruskie is the chair of the program committee, which is responsible for Sunday services when our minister is not in the pulpit, usually one service per month during the regular church year from September through June and all services in July and August.
Dodie has been a UU since 1988 and a member of our church since 2003. She has previously served on our board as a trustee and chair of the membership committee. She has also been active with the church auction and meals for REACH homeless shelter. She also chaired the committee which produced our church cookbook.
Now retired, Dodie worked 36 years as a federal civil servant, primarily in the Department of Defense, where she met her husband, Howard. One of Dodie's passions is reading, especially mysteries. She has facilitated many book discussions through UUCH.
Bill Pfoutz is the chair of the building and grounds committee, overseeing maintenance and improvements at our church home.
Bill joined our church in 1984. He has previously served on our board as president, building and grounds chair, RE chair, social concerns chair, and treasurer.
